Put the chuck roast in you Crock-Pot.  Mix together in a bowl or large measuring cup the beef base, garlic, thyme, rosemary, pepper and soy sauce. Make sure to stir the beef base up good and pour it over the roast. Throw in your bay leaf. Next Pour in your water, you want just enough so that it just covers your roast. So this recipe = super easy. Then again, there isn’t much that you put into a Crock Pot that isn’t! The original recipe called for soy sauce, so I’m going to put that in there, but I ran out, so had to use a substitute. It was still good.
